The U.S. Army Loosens Restrictions on Tattoo Policy

The-U.S.-Army-Loosens-Restrictions-on-Tattoo-Policy

Now, more than ever, tattoos and tattoo removal are increasing their reputation as the perfect pair. We have always believed that tattoos are an art form for people to express themselves or cherish memories. However, some tattoos and their sentiment don’t always last. With laser tattoo removal, it’s easier to remove or fade a tattoo for a cover-up to get exactly what you want.

On June 22, 2022, the United States Army released a memorandum with looser restrictions on their soldiers’ tattoos. The increasing popularity of tattoos has persuaded the Army to update its regulations so that active soldiers who are currently serving and newly tattooed individuals can continue to have the opportunity to serve.

New Tattoo Policy

The US Army has loosened its restrictions on tattoo placements so that Soldiers may have one-inch tattoos on their hands and back of their ears and two-inch tattoos on the back of their necks. In addition, tattoos can be impressed between fingers, as long as they are not visible when the fingers are closed.

What Tattoo Placements Are Still Prohibited?

Although the tattoo policy in the U.S. Army has become more lenient, there are still some forbidden placements throughout a person’s body.

These placements include a Soldier’s face, other parts of the head, and the inside of eyelids, mouths, and ears. Additionally, if body art is visible above a Soldier’s collar or is covered with bandages, they do not comply with regulations.

Getting Fit for the Army with Laser Tattoo Removal

Tattoos have grown in popularity, especially among younger generations. According to TRADOC, 41% of 18 to 34-year-olds have at least one or more tattoos. With this in mind, it’s harder for younger generations to enlist in the Army.

Laser tattoo removal is a great way to help you start a new journey with the U.S. Army and remove any restricting tattoos. Even though getting a waiver for a tattoo is possible, it’s not a guarantee. Plus, laser tattoo removal is the safest, most-effective method of removing undesirable ink. As this demand grows, the technology for tattoo removal continues to advance!
